First of all I would like to thank all our Sponsors and everyone who paddled on Friday.

Due to ongoing Red Algae problems race 2 was carried out in Dubai.

The race was very close up front with any of the leading 5 paddlers having a chance to take the top places. Gleb was by far the best paddler of the day, he rounded the last bouy first and held onto his lead to win the race.

The race was approx 19.6km in length, with a nice 16kt wind from the West North West direction. This made the course a bit more of a challenge and technical, with everyone having to work across the swell to clear the top of the world on the way back, then find the fasted route in the runs back to the beach at DSCK.

There was some confussion with the first group who lead the field out identifying the colour of the final turn bouy in the distance, and mistakenly rounded a closer bouy, so I have added 10 minutes to the final times of the first group to compensate for the 1.5-2km less distance that they covered during the race.

I would also like to make a special mention and thank William, Michael, James and Nigel who helped out a paddler in need from getting washed into the wall of the world and back into their ski. They scarificed their race to help a another paddler so their times are not an acurate reflection of how they paddled on the day. I hope I have not missed out anyone else here who offered assistance.

Gleb is now leading the series with the next race on the 6th Feb in Muscat.
